The weighted sum of these twelve data digits is 89, so the next multiple of ten requires check digit 1. Entering the twelve digits creates 4006381333931. Entering the incorrect complete example reports expected 1 and received 3; accept Fix only if the twelve data digits are correct. This is a check-digit example, not a GTIN assignment or confirmation of product ownership.
