No quantity column means one unit per source row. A mapped quantity must be an explicit non-negative whole number. Repeated identifiers are combined by summing quantities; conflicting names and invalid rows block the entire import.

Recent scans

Reports contain the full session, not just the bounded preview. CSV preserves identifier text; import identifier columns as Text in Excel to keep leading zeroes. Formula-like cells are escaped for spreadsheet safety.

Camera collection counts a held code once. Move it out of frame for about a second before presenting the same code again, or use Count last code again for a deliberate repeat. Wi-Fi passwords are excluded from count reports. Matching identifies codes and quantities, not item authenticity or certified print quality.

Improve an image before trying again

Start with the original image or screenshot instead of a compressed copy from a messaging app.

Keep the complete symbol and its blank border visible; avoid a crop through finder marks or bars.

Use a sharp, front-facing frame with even light and enough pixels across the smallest modules or bars.

After decoding, inspect the raw value before opening a link or recreating the code.

Common scan failures and useful corrections
Symptom	Likely cause	Try
No code found	The symbol is too small, blurred or outside the crop.	Use the original file, move closer or include the complete symbol.
Works on screen, not on paper	Print scaling, contrast, glare or material changed the image.	Print at intended size and test different lighting or stock.
Linear barcode is unreliable	Bars are too narrow or the image is viewed at an angle.	Capture square-on and provide more pixels across the barcode width.
SVG will not decode	The file may reference external resources or contain no supported symbol.	Export a self-contained SVG or rasterize it at a larger size.

Common questions

Which image types can the scanner read?

PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, SVG, HEIC/HEIF and TIFF files up to 12 MB, plus pasted screenshots and a live camera.

Will a retail barcode return a product name?

No. The scanner decodes the stored number and does not query a product database.

Can a damaged code fail to scan?

Yes. Focus, contrast, crop and symbol condition affect decoding.

How do I compare scanned items with an expected list?

Choose Collect scans and expand the optional expected list. Paste spreadsheet rows or upload TXT, CSV, TSV or XLSX, preview the data, map the identifier, name and quantity columns, then apply. Repeated identifier rows sum their expected quantities; invalid rows block the entire import. Scans are matched exactly, including case, spaces and leading zeroes.

What does the count report tell me?

Matched and missing are expected units; excess means more scans than expected for a known identifier; unexpected means the identifier is absent from the list. A held camera code counts once until it leaves the frame for about a second. Undo removes an accidental capture. This is a counting aid, not a product lookup, authenticity check or certified barcode-quality grade.
