(17)	Expiration date	Optional; stored as YYMMDD, with day 00 available for month precision.

(21)	Serial number	Optional variable-length field of up to 20 supported GS1 data characters.

The readable representation is (01)09506000134352(17)271231(10)LOT42(21)SN0007. Parentheses identify fields for people; they are not encoded as literal data. The lot is variable-length and followed by another field, so a group separator is needed after LOT42. The builder supplies the carrier-specific FNC1 and separator handling. Use this illustrative data only to try the builder; real production identifiers and fields must come from your authorized records and receiving specification.
