Spreadsheet values that deserve review
Cell value	How it is handled	Practical check
Text identifier	Stored text is read as-is, including leading zeroes in the cell value.	Prefer Text formatting for SKUs and long numeric IDs; numeric display formatting is not reconstructed.
Number	Read from the workbook value without converting long digits through JavaScript Number.	Confirm that the workbook itself has not already rounded the identifier.
Date	Converted to an ISO date-time value by the local importer.	Use a separate display label if a different printed date form is required.
Blank cell	Imported as an empty value.	A blank mapped Value field is reported as invalid rather than silently encoded.

Worked example: an identifier with leading zeroes

Store the SKU cell as text before saving the XLSX, or paste this tab-separated range. Map SKU as Value and select Code 128 explicitly: Auto may interpret a numeric identifier as a retail code. The encoded identifier must remain 00018427, not 18427. Formatting a numeric cell to display extra zeroes does not change its stored value, and this importer does not reconstruct spreadsheet display formatting or recalculate formulas.
